I earned a BFA, in Book Arts, from the Oregon College of Art & Craft in 2004. There, I learned the fine crafts of letterpress printing and hand bookbinding along with how to build all sorts of clever boxes and cases. I also used screenprinting, intaglio printing, and many more traditional ways of getting image and text onto paper.

While I enjoy the physicality and history of the old-school methods, creating art digitally in Adobe Create Suite allows for infinite design possibilities right at my fingertips - and without even getting them dirty! The same design principles apply to both vintage and modern techniques, so working in Graphic Design simply provides a more efficient way of using my skills.

From 2016-2023, I wrote copy for the website, promotional materials, and marketing campaigns of the company where I worked. Getting to craft wording that was enticing, accurate, and concise was always a fun challenge. Writing creative content complements (and sometimes inspires) my design work as well. I hope to find opportunities to do more of it in the near future.
